Wigs can bring more styling and style, and can also make up for the shortcomings of natural hair. Girls are usually keen on buying  human hair lace wigs. But do you know how to properly maintain our wigs to make them last longer? Today Ashimary Hair brought 6 golden rules to maintain our wigs

1.Choose suitable shampoo and conditioner to clean your wig.

First of all, you have to judge the hair quality first? Curly or rough hair may require frizz-reducing and softening shampoos, and dyed or treated hair may require shampoos rich in extracts or amino acids. It is best to use organic and sulfate-free shampoos when cleaning wigs. Sulfate removes the natural oils from the hair, so it is important to use a sulfate-free shampoo to prevent the hair from drying out.

2.Be careful when washing your hair

Gently wash your hair with the palm of your hand down, do not scrub or rub your hair together, as this will cause the open cuticles to rub against each other and cause friction.

3.Rinse with cold water or cold water

Deep conditioning with cold water at least once a week. The cold water helps to close the cuticle of the hair, which not only adds luster to the hair but also prevents your hair from tangling. Start applying a moderate amount of conditioner about an inch down from the roots of the hair and work all the way down to the tips of the hair. Lower the showerhead and rinse your hair (not the scalp) with cold water during the rinsing process. This is called an Arctic rinse. It closes the cuticle and locks in the moisture and nutrients in the oil, allowing you to have nutritious hair extensions. Wait for about 15 minutes before rinsing, and then use a wide-tooth comb or fingers to comb from the root of the hair. Rinse between each wash, only wash 1-2 times.

4.Maintain of your wig with hair products

While moisturizing, add 2-3 drops of natural oil, such as a small amount of argan oil, almond oil, or coconut oil, and gently apply it to the hair evenly. These oils will penetrate into the stratum corneum and add moisture to the hair braid. Natural oils can do most of the hair conditioner without adding chemicals and silicones. Natural oils are always the best. Argan oil is a styling and frizz finishing oil, but it is a drying oil, Does not moisturize hair like almonds or coconuts.

5.Pay attention to the correct way to dry the wig

After washing your hair, avoid rubbing your hair with a towel. Rubbing the wig harder can only cause more tangles. We need to use a towel to gently dry the hair. The best thing is to let your hair air-dry at home, wash your hair for 2-3 hours and dry it naturally-don't heat it, as this will swell and dry your hair. If you must dry quickly, use a hairdryer to dry from the top/root, about six inches from the scalp, and set a low temperature. Go down and make your hair a little wet. (Hint: if you want some lift and volume, use your hands to comb your roots and blow-dry).

6.Untie knotted hair immediately.

Don't wait until tomorrow or next week to do something about the tangles in your hair. You should untie the knotted hair immediately. Use detangling sprays or conditioning products that help reduce tangles. It can be in the form of a conditioner, and you can apply it to the areas where tangles occur the most. Do not use a regular comb to comb through tangled hair. The correct approach is to first use your fingers or a wide-toothed comb to gently pull the hair to remove tangles. Get in the habit of combing your hair from the top to the end. Don't wet your hair when it is already tangled, as this will only make the situation worse. Instead, spray the tangles with a shiny serum spray and then massage the tangled areas with your palms. This will help loosen the tangled area. Then use your fingers or a wide-toothed comb to untie it.
